
Between 01 - 04 February, nine flights delivering a total of 2,084 Child Protection Kits are leaving Miami for Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The kits will cover a total of 50,000 children.
As of today, seven of these flights carrying a total of 1,725 kits have arrived or are on their way. Today, the first of these kits reached 3,362 children in Port-au-Prince. The kits have been especially prepared by US Fund, UNICEF New York staff, and private sector partners, for children without parental care. Air freight was donated by UPS.
Over the days and weeks ahead, UNICEF supplies that are being prepared for shipment will include, as priority: Early Childhood Development kits, recreation kits, school-in-a-box, tents, a range of health kits, and prefabricated living and office accommodation for staff.
