The international humanitarian community has defined a target population of two million people for whom needs in essential commodities and activities will be addressed. Based on this information, UNICEF will identify its priorities within that target population, in line with its Core Commitments for Children, and in consultation with cluster partners. Tomorrow, Wednesday, 27 January, Air France/KLM will leave Amsterdam at 22:00 UTC with 100 MT of health, nutrition, and water and sanitation supplies. The plane will arrive in Santo Domingo on 28 January. The airline is not applying a commercial mark up for this service.
On Friday, 29 January, British Airways will carry 100MT of hygiene kits from Madrid at 16:40 UTC to Santo Domingo. The flight has been provided to UNICEF with no commercial mark up.
